Kari has more than 4 years of experience conducting academic research in the social psychology and sexology fields, resulting in multiple peer-reviewed publications. Her work broadly explores gender and human sexuality, with a particular focus on social justice related topics including stereotypes, stigma, prejudice, gender roles, and gender-based violence. As a passionate intersectional feminist, Kari promotes wellness, equity, and inclusion for diverse individuals and communities through meaningful research and evaluation initiatives.

Marrying her academic background with additional experience in the market research industry, Kari has developed strong competency in both quantitative and qualitative research. Using skills in data analysis, interpretation, visualization, and writing, she supports the delivery of clear and compelling insights to those seeking to address complex issues. Kari also has additional experience developing and delivering a university course on wellness, creating a resilience program for university students to support wellness skill-building, and supporting at-risk girls and adolescents through residential youth work.

Kari holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Counselling Psychology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Her Honours thesis investigated motivations for engagement in street harassment and won the 2020 Canadian Psychological Association Award of Academic Excellence.
